Sea-Hi Famous Chinese Food
Bathurst St.

Well, even though the neon on the dragon and the 'Hi' are burnt out, the Sea-Hi is still the shining example of great 1950's suburban Chinese food restaurants. Nestled in an orthodox Jewish neighbourhood, Sea-Hi's busiest day of the year is Christmas, when everything else is closed, and the whole neighbourhood piles in for kosher chicken balls and fried rice. Although it looks like the sort of place that might serve you a Mai Tai in a tiki mug, I haven't been since I was 15 so I wouldn't know. More research may be required. This photo was taken out the car window on the way to Mom's house so we didn't have time to stop and savour the flavour of the exotic orient... in North York.
